New World Order

I said before that when you see a 7-year peace agreement signed with the nation of Israel and her enemies, you know the clock is ticking and God is about to bring this age of man to a close. I also said that the last 7 years of this age of mankind are divided up into (2) 3 ½ year periods.

I shared two things in my last post that will take place in the first 3 ½ years which is the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem and God bringing back two individuals (Moses & Elijah?) the bible calls witnesses that will, in addition to many other things, hold back rain from the earth for the first 3 ½ years.

Another thing that happens early on at the beginning of the tribulation period is the formation of a New World Order. This will be a confederacy of 10 nations led by the antichrist. We know that it will be 10 nations or countries because of passages in Daniel chapter 2, Daniel chapter 7, and Revelation chapter 17. What we don’t know is who these nations are.
But there are some things we do know. Based on Daniel chapter 2, this confederacy will have some connection to the ancient Roman empire. This had led many in the past to believe there will be a revival of sorts of the Roman Empire. Many years ago, it was thought that the European Common Market (European Union) could be it because it had 10 nations early on. Now it has 27 members.

What we do know is that these 10 nations will give power to the antichrist and together they will rule over the world or at least most of it. Maybe the connection to the ancient Roman empire is not geography, but characteristics. This last world empire will have some of the strength of the Roman empire, but not all of it.

Isn’t it interesting that the United Nations not only has 5 permanent nations, but it also has 10 non-permanent nations that act as the governing body of the world. The United Nations currently has 193 Member states or sovereign countries. Keep in mind that there are currently 195 countries in the world today. What if the UN Charter was changed and it no longer had 5 permanent members and the 10 non-permanent members are given more say in the UN.

Again there is a lot we do not know. But when you see a world leader given the power to rule by 10 nations, then know that the bible said this would happen and you need to get right with God, because there isn’t much time left.
