Can it get worse?

Just as there are distinct events that mark the beginning of the 7-year tribulation period, there are several distinct events that mark the halfway point which I mention in my last post. You might feel fortunate that you survived the first half, but don’t pat yourself on the back yet, because your odds of surviving the last 3½ go down dramatically.

The first 3½ years were no cakewalk, but the last 3½ years will be much worse. There will be the sounding of 7 trumpets in heaven followed by the pouring out of 7 bowls of judgment. Each trumpet and each bowl brings about a particular judgment.

The first trumpet brings hail mixed with fire & blood falling upon the earth. As a result 1/3 of the world's vegetation will be consumed in fire. Remember there will be no rain during the first 3½ years. At the end of that 3½ years, the world will be a tinder box. Can you imagine how forest fires all around the globe will affect the world?

At the sounding of the second trumpet, the earth will be hit most likely by an asteroid landing in one of our oceans. This will bring the destruction of 1/3 of the world's ships and sea life. Think of the global economic impact this will have.

When the third trumpet sounds, another asteroid or comet will enter the earth’s atmosphere, break up, and fall upon rivers and springs around the world. This will affect 1/3 of the world’s drinkable water and many people will die from drinking the water.

When the fourth trumpet sounds 1/3 of the sun, moon, stars, daylight, and nighttime is affected in some way. Most likely ash from the fires, asteroids, and such will affect atmospheric conditions.

When the fifth trumpet is sounded, locust-like insects (demonic in nature) will be released upon the world. These insects will sting people who will suffer for 5 months, but won’t die. However, they will wish they could die.

When the sixth trumpet sounds, an army of 200 million will come forth. It is unclear whether this is a literal army (possibly China) or another demonic army. Either way, 1/3 of the world's population will die. At this point, close to half of the world’s population has died from all that has taken place.

The seventh trumpet leads to the pouring out of the 7 bowl judgments. Please note, it just gets worse from here.

If you have survived all of this and still have not turned to Jesus, what are you waiting for? The invitation to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior is still available, but time is running out. Don’t harden your heart.
