One World Relgion
So the tribulation period begins with a 7-year peace agreement with Israel, the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, and the formation of a one-world government.
Another thing that will be seen early on is the formation of a one-world religion. For years the one-world religion has been tied to one religious group, which I believe to be a mistake.
What you will see during the first 3½ years is a joining of all religions in acceptance of one another’s faith. It will be taught that each religion expresses their worship of God as they understand Him to be and that each form is valid. This will allow for a greater acceptance of the idea that all roads lead to God. So the idea is if you are a Muslim, be a good Muslim and you will have eternal life. If you are a Buddist, be a good Buddist and you will have eternal life. If you are a ____________ (insert religion), be a good one and you will have eternal life.
However, there will be one group that will be marginalized, singled out, and persecuted. Those who come to accept the truth of Jesus and follow Him during the 7-year tribulation period. Though Christians in various parts of the world today are persecuted for their faith in Christ, those who choose to follow Jesus during the tribulation period will be persecuted on a worldwide scale. It won’t matter where you live.
Why would you be persecuted for following Jesus when there has been an acceptance of all religions? Because Christianity stands out from all others. Followers of Jesus believe there is only one way to God, one way to be saved and have eternal life and that is through faith in the person and work of Jesus.
Followers of Jesus will be called bigoted, unloving, narrow-minded, intolerant, a blight on the world. Have you heard that before? Followers of Jesus worldwide will be challenged in a way that only Christians in some parts of the world face today. Eventually, you won’t be able to earn a living and support yourself and your family (buy or sell). You will likely be faced with imprisonment and many throughout the 7-year tribulation period will be beheaded for their faith in Christ.
Some believe the church will be in the tribulation period for at least the first 3½ years. I don’t believe so, but even if we are the solution is not to start stocking up now. The solution is to start learning to trust Jesus like never before.
If you come to accept the truth of Jesus during tribulation, read the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation so that you can have an understanding of what is about to come, so you are prepared. But also prepare yourself to lay your life down for Jesus just as He did for you.
