Armageddon

Today we are going to look at the 6th bowl judgment

Revelation 16:12–16 (ESV)  The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13 And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. 14 For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. 15 (“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) 16 And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

In my last post, we looked at the 5th bowel judgment where the kingdom of the antichrist is plunged into darkness.  When this happens, know that there are 2 more judgments to come before Jesus returns.

The next judgment is the 6th bowl. When the 6th bowl is poured out the river Euphrates is dried up allowing the kings of the east to gather with the remaining armies of the world at a place called Armageddon or Megiddo. The question that comes to mind is – “why are they gathering together?”

Some believe that this gathering of armies is to launch one last attack against the nation of Israel. This may be part of the reason, but I believe the real purpose is seen in Revelation 19 where the armies of the world are gathered together and they seek to defeat Jesus who will return at the end of this 7-year period of time.

If you have survived up to this point then you fall into one of 3 groups of people.

The first are those who received the mark of the beast. Your eternity is sealed and it is just a matter of time before you stand before the Great White Throne.

The second are those who have accepted the truth of Jesus and have been born-again. Soon you will see Jesus return. Lookup for your redemption draws near.

The third group, if possible, are those who have done neither. My guess is this will be a very small group of people because it will be difficult to survive tribulation without the mark of the beast. If this is where you are, time is running out. If you wait to see if Jesus actually returns then you have waited too long. Repent and receive the salvation of your soul before it's too late.
